Muscle Knots Can Be Caused By Physical Or Mental Stress

Muscle Fibers Remain Contracted And Are Unable To Release

After intense physical activity, there may be muscle aches in the shoulders, neck and back pain. These usually last for 2 or three days, but there are cases in which they can last for months. The cause may be muscle knots, in which muscle fibers remain contracted and are unable to release. They are known as myofascial trigger points (MTPS) and can be as large as a thumb. They may cause pain only when pressure is applied to them, or might constantly generating pain. The reason might be physical stress, as an extended workout, or mental stress, such as anxiety, and also dehydration. Additional details click here.
